The South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to the preservation, documentation and display of South Dakota's sports history.

Dale Weber - Inducted 2019



Dale Weber was a 1957 Delmont High School and 1961 Yankton College graduate. He was a multiple sport athlete in high school and college.

Weber retired from high school basketball officiating in 1995 after a 30-year career and working more than 2,000 games, including a combined 34 boys’ and girls’ state tournaments and 21 state championship games. He was a long-time college official as well.

In 2010, Weber retired from football officiating after a 44-year career. He officiated five state championship games. He worked many games with his sons, son-in-law and grandsons. He also worked numerous college football and basketball games.

Weber was a South Dakota amateur baseball player from 1955-75 and has been an officer for that group from 1978 to the present. He has been the president since 1988. He was a long-time coach, teacher and administrator at Colton, Mount Vernon and Salem. He has won numerous national, regional and state honors.
