The South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to the preservation, documentation and display of South Dakota's sports history.

Bob Clifford - Inducted 1983



Organized the original Holy Rosary Mission basketball team in 1925. He coached there - except for two years at St. Francis - until retiring in 1962. He was the coach at St. Francis when the state Catholic tourney was started in 1937. Clifford's Warriors won that inaugural title. He coached Holy Rosary (now Red Cloud) to state Catholic titles in 1941, '42, '47 and '48. He also coached the girls basketball team at Holy Rosary, where his teams enjoyed 15 seasons without a loss.
